WINONA, Minn. — Hamline (14-10, 6-9 MIAC) defeated Saint Mary's University of Minnesota (1-23, 0-15 MIAC) with a decisive 90-58 victory on Wednesday night at David R. Thies Arena. The Pipers' bench contributed significantly, adding 51 points to the team's total.
The game began with Saint Mary's taking an early lead as John Palmer scored a jumper in the paint. Hamline quickly responded with
Dane DeDominces, who scored two consecutive layups, including one in transition assisted by
Raoul Vaidya. Hamline then extended its lead with back-to-back three-pointers by Vaidya, building momentum.
Brendan Ebel contributed significantly, assisting on multiple plays and adding a free throw and a three-pointer. The Cardinals attempted to stay within reach with a three-pointer by Josh Wohlers, but Hamline closed the half with a commanding 44-29 advantage, capped by a late jumper from Vaidya.
Hamline extended its lead in the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 46-29.
