Banta Wins Two Events In Pipers Dual With Gusties

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The Hamline University women's gymnastics team hosted the Gustavus Adolphus Gusties in a dual at home in Walker Fieldhouse on Friday evening. 

 The Pipers narrowly fell to Gustavus in the dual meet scoring 180.800 to Gustavus' 182.575 team score. 

On vault, Maura Erickson led the Pipers with a 5th place tied finish, scoring 9.300. Laurel Raymond finished in 7th place with a score of 9.275 for her vault. 

On the bar rotation, Carly Banta led the Pipers with a first place finish on bars with her score of 9.275. Katie Chai-Mulkerin placed 3rd with a score of 9.100 and behind her in 4th place was Ashley Savell with a score of 8.975. 

On balance beam, Kaitlyn Morgan placed 3rd to lead the Pipers with her score of 9.200, followed by Banta's 9.050 score and 5th place finish. 

Lastly on floor, Banta once again shined and took first place with a 9.550 score and winning her second event of the evening. Sydney Stoenner placed 5th with a score of 9.200 and behind her in 6th place was Cate Zack with a 9.175. 

The Pipers will be back at home in Walker Fieldhouse for their final home meet on February 20 to host Winona State at 6:30 PM.
