LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Hamline University women's lacrosse team kept its perfect season intact on Tuesday afternoon, improving to 5-0 with a 13-5 road victory over Spalding University at Legacy Fields.
The Pipers utilized a dominant first-quarter surge and a stifling defensive performance in the second half to secure their fifth consecutive win to open the 2026 campaign.
Hamline wasted no time asserting their will, exploding for six goals in the opening 15 minutes.
Reagan Zywicki ignited the offense with an unassisted tally just a minute into the contest.
Lauren Moorhouse and
Kayli Starkey quickly followed suit to push the lead to 3-0. After a Spalding response, the Pipers closed the frame with three more goals from
Emma Collins, Starkey, and
Ema Rehder to take a 6-1 cushion into the second.
The Pipers added to their lead before the half, with Rehder finding the net again and Moorhouse converting a clinical free-position shot. Starkey completed her hat trick late in the second quarter, sending Hamline into the halftime break with a comfortable 9-3 advantage.
The third quarter belonged to the Hamline defense, which completely neutralized the Golden Eagles' attack, holding them scoreless for the entire period. On the offensive end, Collins and Zywicki added to their totals before Starkey notched her fourth goal of the game on a man-up opportunity, extending the lead to 12-3.
In the final frame, Moorhouse put the finishing touches on the victory, netting her third goal of the afternoon to complete her hat trick and secure the eight-goal win. Moorhouse also reached the 100 draw control mark during the game.
