MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The Hamline University women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on March 23, 2026, defeating The College of St. Scholastica 6-1 at InnerCity Tennis in Minneapolis. The Pipers (7-3) controlled the match from the start, sweeping the doubles session and claiming five of the six singles flights to secure the conference victory.
Hamline jumped out to an early lead by sweeping all three doubles matches. Vanessa Pham and Chloe Reyes set the tone at the top flight with a 6-1 win over Paula Sendele and Sophia Cosgrove. Elanna Kohner and Chrissa Muller followed with a 6-2 victory at the second position, and the duo of Emily Dreger and Gabi Newton completed the sweep with a 6-4 win at number three doubles.
In singles play, the Pipers' depth was on full display as they won four matches in straight sets. Vanessa Pham led the way at number one singles with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Paula Sendele. Elanna Kohner remained in top form at the third flight, cruising to a 6-3, 6-1 win, while Chrissa Muller added a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at the fourth spot. Emily Dreger also made quick work of her opponent at number five singles, winning 6-1, 6-3.
The most tightly contested matches took place at the second and sixth positions, both requiring third-set tiebreakers. Shayla Draper showed great resolve at number six singles, rallying from a set down to defeat Chloe Hasbargen 5-7, 6-3, 10-4. The Saints earned their lone point of the day at number two singles, where Sophia Cosgrove outlasted Chloe Reyes in a 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 marathon. With the victory, Hamline continues its strong season as they head into the next stretch of conference play.
