FARGO, N.D. — Hamline University (9-5, 3-3 MIAC) secured a decisive 6-1 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead (6-9, 3-5 MIAC) on Saturday at Courts Plus. The Pipers dominated in singles play, winning five of six matches, and claimed the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
Hamline secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Elanna Kohner and Chrissa Muller delivered a 7-5 win over Erin Borchard and Olivia Walter at No. 2 doubles. Simultaneously,
Emily Dreger and
Gabi Newton clinched the point by defeating Annalise Skrade and Ava Lowman, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles. Concordia-Moorhead captured a win at No. 1 doubles as Tanis Lee and Alyssa Sommerfeld overcame
Vanessa Pham and
Chloe Reyes, 6-2.
In singles, Hamline extended its lead with decisive victories.
Emily Dreger dominated at No. 5 singles, winning 6-2, 6-0 over Ava Lowman, followed by
Shayla Draper, who triumphed 6-0, 6-0 against Olivia Walter at No. 6 singles. Concordia-Moorhead responded at No. 1 singles, where Tanis Lee edged
Vanessa Pham in a tight match, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 1-0 (10-5).
Elanna Kohner clinched the dual match for the Pipers at No. 3 singles by overcoming Erin Borchard in a comeback, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (8), 1-0 (10-7). Chrissa Muller and
Chloe Reyes added to Hamline's tally with victories at No. 4 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Muller defeated Annalise Skrade, 2-6, 7-6 (7), 1-0 (10-2), while Reyes secured her win against Alyssa Sommerfeld, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (12-10), finalizing the dual score at 6-1 in favor of Hamline.
