SAINT PAUL, MINN. -- 'Win Folkers '57 Court' was dedicated in Hutton Arena on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in honor of Winston 'Win' Folkers - Life Trustee and former Piper basketball standout.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, a lifetime of dedication and service to Hamline University and Hamline Athletics was honored by the Hamline Board of Trustees, President Mayme Hostetter, coaches and staff from the Hamline Athletics Department, and Hamline student athletes alike. These groups gathered in Historic Hutton Arena to honor the legacy of Winston 'Win' Folkers, Hamline University Class of 1957, as the university named the court in his honor. President Hostetter spoke with pride about the tradition of Hamline, and Win's embodiment of John Wesley's call to 'do all the good.' Director of Athletics Alex Focke thanked Win for his generous contributions to not only the history of Hamline, but to the future as well. Student athletes, including Sophomore Ava Nebben from the Women's Basketball Team, spoke to the history and culture within Historic Hutton Arena, and shared their gratitude to Win for contributing to enhancements to the experience in their home gym.

The dedication ceremony ended with a ribbon cutting and a toast to Win, and to the future of Hamline Athletics in Hutton Arena.

Win Folkers - a Hamline tennis player and Honorable Mention All-American basketball player under the legendary Joe Hutton - is a Life Trustee and has made significant contributions and commitments toward the betterment of Hamline University; specifically, Hutton Arena. Short term projects include new digital scorers tables and the installation of new bleachers, set to begin in the summer of 2027.

The legacy Win has left at Hamline will be carried forward with pride - and the unveiling of Win Folkers '57 Court marks the beginning of new legacies to come.
