ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline won 3-0 over North Central (MN) on Wednesday at Pat Paterson Field. Hamline outshot North Central (MN) 20-5 and put 11 shots on goal while allowing two. Hamline scored twice in the first half and once in the second, and its goalkeeping recorded two saves in the shutout.
Hamline created the first sustained push of the half, with
Danna Garcia missing left at 1:51,
Elysse Tanaka forcing Bella Sorbo into a save at 3:22 and
Athena Lopez hitting the left woodwork after a corner at 3:53.
Addyson Barrett opened the scoring at 9:18, and after
Alexis Geary and Barrett each put shots on frame, Barrett scored again at 14:01 to extend the lead to 2-0. North Central (MN) created its first looks when Victoria de Abreu had an attempt saved by
Sarah Russell at 24:43 and sent another high at 25:28, while Hamline added later attempts from
Sonnie Luciano and a corner in the final minute before the half ended with Hamline ahead 2-0.
Early in the second half, Hamline moved forward, with Barrett forcing Bella Sorbo into a save at 51:33 and
Ellie Nhean sending a shot high after a corner moments later. After another corner at 57:59, Nhean scored off an assist from Tanaka at 58:17 to extend Hamline's lead to 3-0, and Hamline kept pressure on with additional corners and shots from Barrett, Nhean and
Reese Keiffer through the 69th minute. North Central (MN) created later chances, including a shot from Victoria de Abreu and a Joyce Horton attempt that
Cate Toal saved at 76:57. The final stretch included six fouls from 80:00 to 88:54, while
Maya Gonzalez and
Addyson Moore each put late shots on frame as Hamline closed out the 3-0 win.
Barrett scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and put all five of her shots on goal. Nhean added a goal on three shots. Tanaka recorded an assist and finished with three shots, including one on goal. Russell started in goal and made one save over 70:02 without allowing a goal.
Hamline is 3-0-0 overall. North Central (MN) is 0-2-0 overall.
