CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Hamline lost to Coe 4-1 on Saturday. The Pipers generated 11 of their 16 shots in the second half and finished with eight shots on goal, but Coe scored all four of its goals after halftime.
Hamline created the early chances and held Coe scoreless through several responses, with
AJ Jueseah putting a shot on frame in the fourth minute and
Johanso Camacho adding two first-half attempts. The visitors sustained pressure from the ninth through 16th minutes, getting saved shots from Jueseah and Camacho around a corner kick before Coe answered with chances of its own.
Alec Setterberg kept the half level, making saves in the sixth and 16th minutes before stopping Brandon Kostelny's penalty kick at 17:49. Coe generated a stretch of shots and corner kicks from the 27th through 36th minutes, but the Pipers got through it without conceding, and the teams went into halftime tied 0-0.
Hamline quickly erased Coe's opening second-half goal when Camacho scored at 47:27 to tie the match at 1-1. Coe responded with goals at 50:34, 51:07 and 56:09, but the Pipers continued to create chances as Jueseah,
Titus Lee and Camacho each put shots on frame that William Shaw saved during the stretch. Camacho added attempts at 60:08 and 63:37, and Hamline earned corners at 58:01, 60:13 and 71:12 while Setterberg made a save on Valentin Lobos at 71:01. Hamline made another late push with shots from
Augustine Feika,
William Ferrufino, Jueseah and Camacho from 74:26 through 82:46, then added an 85:50 corner before the match ended with Coe ahead 4-1.
Camacho scored Hamline's goal and led the team with eight shots, putting four on frame. Jueseah added four shots, including three on goal. Setterberg recorded five saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
The Pipers are 2-2-1 overall. Coe is 3-3-0 overall.
