MOORHEAD, Minn. — Hamline played Concordia-M'head to a 0-0 tie Tuesday. The Pipers withstood six Concordia-M'head attacking actions from 70:19 to 77:21 in the second half without conceding.
Hamline kept Concordia-M'head off the board in the first half, with Setterberg making four saves, including three before the 14-minute mark and another in the 35th minute. The Pipers' early attacking chance came from Jueseah in the ninth minute, and
Cris Romero added another shot in the 31st as the visitors looked for a breakthrough. The half also included a physical stretch for Hamline, which was whistled for three fouls in the opening 15 minutes and later received a yellow card to Jueseah in the 30th. The Pipers earned a late corner kick at 44:16, but the half ended scoreless at 0-0.
Hamline's central second-half accomplishment was keeping Concordia-M'head off the board while creating a late run of set-piece chances. The half opened with a physical stretch — the Pipers were whistled for six fouls by 61:37 — but
William Ferrufino forced Dante Kummer into a save at 51:21, and Setterberg stopped Noah Meyer less than two minutes later. After
Faith Gnadji and
Finley Reibestein received yellow cards, Hamline withstood a Concordia-M'head spell from 70:19 to 77:21 that included three corners and three shots, including Setterberg's save on Parker Gast. The Pipers pushed late with corners at 79:21, 84:11 and 89:00, while Jueseah had a shot saved by Kummer at 81:08 and added another attempt at 84:01. Neither team scored in the half, and the match finished 0-0.
Alec Setterberg recorded seven saves in a 90-minute shutout.
AJ Jueseah led Hamline with three shots, including one on goal.
Hamline is 2-2-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play. Concordia-M'head is 2-2-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
