ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline played St. Norbert to a 1-1 tie Wednesday at Pat Paterson Field. After a scoreless first half, both teams scored once in the second half. Hamline put four of its nine shots on goal and generated all four of its corner kicks after halftime, while St. Norbert finished with a 14-9 edge in total shots.
Hamline is 0-0-1 overall. St. Norbert is 0-1-1 overall.
Hamline kept St. Norbert off the scoreboard during a concentrated first-half push, defending three corner kicks and three shots between 26:42 and 28:32 to keep the match at 0-0. Earlier,
AJ Jueseah recorded Hamline's first shot in the 16th minute, while the Pipers also dealt with two St. Norbert attempts from Joe Anguil in the opening 14 minutes.
Augustine Feika added another Hamline chance in the 31st minute, sending a shot out top left. Hamline's best late opportunity came at 42:58, but
Titus Lee's penalty kick was saved by Jackson Kiszka, and the teams went into halftime scoreless.
Johanso Camacho gave Hamline its response in the 72nd minute, scoring at 71:19 to tie the match 1-1 after St. Norbert had gone ahead on Quinn Graham's goal at 63:01. Earlier in the half, Lee forced a save in the 50th minute, while Hamline faced two St. Norbert shots before the visitors broke through. After Camacho's goal,
Alec Setterberg made saves in the 75th and 78th minutes, and Hamline also recorded a team save in the 82nd. Hamline pushed again late, getting a saved shot from Feika at 79:59, two shots from Jueseah and four corner kicks between 84:04 and 88:22, but the half ended with the score still 1-1.
Camacho scored an unassisted game-tying goal, finishing with one shot on goal and two points. Jueseah led Hamline with three shots. Lee put both of his two shots on goal. Setterberg played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves.
