MENOMONIE, Wis. — Hamline defeated Wis.-Stout 4-0 on Wednesday. The Pipers scored three times in the first half and put 10 shots on goal to Wis.-Stout's five.
Hamline turned its first-half pressure into a 3-0 scoring edge, with
Finley Reibestein opening the scoring in the 14th minute and
AJ Jueseah adding two goals before the 28th. Earlier, the Pipers generated the first chances with a corner in the second minute, a
Faith Gnadji shot saved by Eddie Puglisi, a
Johanso Camacho attempt and a
Beniam Makonnen shot saved in the 10th minute. Reibestein put Hamline in front at 13:55 off
Anthony Porter's assist, and Jueseah made it 2-0 at 21:00 with assists from Makonnen and Reibestein after Makonnen hit the left woodwork seconds earlier. Wis.-Stout responded with a Patrick Zich shot that
Brandon Cruz Rojas saved at 21:46, and the Pipers continued to create chances before Jueseah scored again at 27:28 from Camacho and Reibestein. The half closed with Hamline holding Wis.-Stout without a goal while recording the only three goals of the first half.
Jueseah converted a penalty kick in the 88th minute as Hamline extended its lead from 3-0 to 4-0 late in the second half. Earlier, Wis.-Stout pressed after halftime with five shots in the first 16 minutes, but Cruz Rojas made saves in the 59th and 61st minutes to keep the Pipers' advantage intact. Hamline pushed back in the final stretch, getting saved shots from Camacho and Porter before Reibestein missed high and Jueseah hit the left woodwork. Cruz Rojas added two more saves after the 79th minute, and the Pipers finished off the half with Jueseah's penalty and a 4-0 final result.
Jueseah recorded a hat trick on five shots, including one penalty-kick goal, and put three attempts on frame. Reibestein finished with one goal, two assists and four shots, and was credited with the game-winning goal. Cruz Rojas made five saves over 90 minutes and finished with a shutout. Camacho added an assist and took four shots.
Hamline is 3-2-3 overall and 0-0-2 in conference play. Wis.-Stout is 2-3-1 overall.
