SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Hamline lost to Macalester 1-0 on Saturday. Hamline faced 14 second-half shots and made eight saves after halftime, but was held to four shots and none on goal.
Macalester generated the first corner at 5:59, while Hamline's first recorded shot came from
Reese Keiffer at 14:19 before the Pipers earned a corner at 25:01. Macalester moved ahead 1-0 at 26:13 when Erica Hamilton scored off Lindsay Edmonson's assist, and the Pipers earned another corner at 28:56. The closing stretch featured four fouls between 32:59 and 40:42, along with a Macalester corner and an Edmonson shot out left, as Macalester took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Sharis Garcia saved Lindsay Edmonson's shot at 56:59 to keep the margin at 1-0. Macalester followed from 58:50 through 70:24, earning two corners and sending six shots toward goal while Garcia made saves on Erica Hamilton, Edmonson, Mikayla Edmunds and Charlotte Martel. Macalester pushed again late with five shots from 79:06 to 83:17, but Garcia made two more saves and the Pipers also recorded a team save before
Riley Keiffer hit the woodwork at 84:42. Garcia added a save on Edmonson at 88:50 and Shaylee O'Grady's follow-up was blocked at 88:57, as Macalester closed out a 1-0 result.
Sharis Garcia recorded eight saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal, with all eight stops coming in the second half.
Hamline is 4-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play. Macalester is 4-4-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play.
