Jordan Sammons is carving quite a niche for herself in the Hamline women's basketball record book. The senior guard became the first women's hoopster ever to cross the 1,700 point threshold last Saturday when she threw in 26 points in Hamline's thrilling 82-79 victory over Gustavus Adolphus at Hutton Arena. The win thrust the Pipers over the .500 mark for the season at 10-9 and kept them alive in the MIAC playoff race with a 5-7 standard.

Sammons also had a game high 14 rebounds in the game for her ninth double-double of the season. The Burnsville, Minn. native also had 22 points and 15 boards in a 68-65 loss at St. Mary's. She leads the MIAC and is second in the country in points per game (22.9). She also leads the loops and is fourth nationally at 4.11 per game.

Hamline has a pair of away games this week. The Pipers play at Bethel Wednesday (7:00 p.m.) and at Macalester next Saturday (1:00 p.m.).
