Hamline Men’s Soccer teams has had their fair share of thrillers this season but none more exciting than last Tuesday’s overtime win in the first round of the MIAC  playoffs over St. John’s.

Junior forward Stefan Kinsinger headed in a pass from Jack Reddan at the 7:41 mark in overtime to win the game. The OT goal was a thrilling end to the first ever home playoff game for Hamline Men’s Soccer at Pat Paterson Field. The goal advanced Hamline to the MIAC Semifinals against St. Thomas.

Unfortunately the Pipers couldn’t pull it out and fell one game short of the championship with a 3-0 loss

The overtime game-winner was the seventh goal of the year for the Sioux Falls, SD native, which tied sophomore Adam King for the team lead. He is not a stranger to scoring game winners as he also scored the winning goal in the 86th minute at Viterbo University earlier this year.

Kinsinger also tallied an assist and finished the season with 15 points. He started all 19 games and racked up 1473 minutes. His efforts helped lead Hamline to a 12-6-1 record, which tied the school record for victories in a season.
