She has traded in her spikes for skates. But she didn't lose her scoring touch. Corinne Henning made a smashing debut, scoring a goal in her first game of the season in the Pipers' 2-1 loss to St. Catherine at Warner Coliseum.
Down 1-0 after a period, Henning (pictured) knotted matters 56 seconds into the middle session, convering a pass from Jordan Verleye.
It stayed that way until the Wildcats scored the winner with 4:41 left in the third period. Sam Stark was solid in goal for the Pipers (0-3) with 21 saves.
The same two teams meet Saturday at Drake Arena. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
