Hamline women's hockey coach
Steve DeBus would like to see the numbers balance out a bit this weekend when his team hosts Concordia in a two-game series at Warner Coliseum. The Pipers (5-10-4, 2-8-2 MIAC) host the Cobbers (8-7-3, 7-4-1) in a two-game set that starts Friday, February 8 with a 7:00 p.m. game. The teams have a followup game the next afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
Last weekend, HU goalie
Sarah Schneekloth recorded 99 saves, allowing just five goals in 3-2 and 2-0 losses to league leader Gustavus Adolphus. The expected return of leading scorer
Chelsea Koehn (who missed last weekend with an injury) may help ignite the HU offense, which managed just 18 shots in the two games against the Gusties.
Concordia enters the game in third place with 15 points. Thye are just one point out of second but only one ahead of fourth place.
Special teams usually play a role in tight series. It may be of particular interest here since Hamline enters the game as No. 2 in the league in power play effiency (21.5 per cent) and the Coibbers are second in killing off such disadvantages at 90.7.
