The Hamline women's tennis team held their own in singles in their season opening match against Northwestern. But they had double trouble in a 7-2 loss in Lakeville.
Jordan Danielson (no. 3 singles) and
Shamara Duwearatchi (no. 5 singles) claimed hardfought victories. Each was extended to a tiebreaker set. Danielson took here, 10-6 and Duwearatchi grinded out a 10-8 win.
Cassie Rammage nearly duplicated that feat, losing, 10-6, after splitting a pair of 7-5 sets.
But the doubles teams could manage five games total against a team that is expected to contend for the UMAC title.
