Kayla Hennum won a pair of close diving competitions to lead Hamline's effort in a dual meet at Macalester, November 22. The Pipers lost the meet to the Scots, 154-82. But Hennum, a sophomore from Bemidji, Minn. was able to garner 18 points for HU with wins in the 1 and 3 Meter diving competitions. Kayla edged out Mac's Molly Lloyd twice, winning the 1-Meter title with a 165.80 total. She scored 166.15 to claim the 3 Meter crown as well.
Hannah Hawker and
Kaitlyn Allee also posted wins for the Pipers. Hawker rolled to a six second win in the 100 backstroke (1:03.81) while Allee nosed out Mac's Christina Bloom to win the 100 Breaststroke. The freshman's time of 1:14.22 bested Bloom by .14 seconds. Hawker also grabbed a second place finish in the 100 Free (57.62).
Jennie Dwyer also had a second, swimming the marathon 1650 Free in 20:42.54. Dwyer was also fourth int he 200 Free (2:15.26). Hawker, Allee,
Maya Rapp and
Abbie Thurber teamed up for a second place finish in the 200 Medley relay (2:01.74).
