Box Score Jessica Goldberg is quickly becoming the go-to person for the Hamline women's hockey team. The junior scored from the slot with 13.3 seconds remaining in regulation time to lift the Pipers to a 4-4 OT tie with St. Olaf in the MIAC opener for both teams Friday.Â
It was a wide open affair with 86 shots on goal.Â
Brede Postier scored twice and assisted on aÂ
Haleigh Bolton for the Pipers, who fired 44 shots on goal while goalie Mary Shefeveland andÂ
Jessica Cole teamed up to  bat away 38 saves.
Bolton gave the Pipers a 1-0 first period lead and Postier's first of the night made it 2-0 in the second period. The Oles then took advantage of some HU penalties for three unanswered power play goals (the latter two just 75 seconds apart in the third period) for a 3-2 lead. Postier replied in like fashion on a PP at 7:07 to knot the fray at 3.Â
The Oles went ahead again with 6:01 left in the game. At that point, Cole entered the game in goal. She was pulled for a sixth attacker with 90 seconds remaining. Hamline attacked relentlessly and finally tied the game whenÂ
Chelsea Koehn spotted Goldberg, who nailed her team high third of the season.Â
In the OT, it was Cole's turn to sparkle as she held off six shots.Â
Hanline is now 0-2-2 overall while the Oles are 0-3-1. The teams meet again Saturday in Northfield. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
