Box Score That was a mighty nice final act for the Hamline football team.

RB Austin Duncan ran for 111 yards to cross the 4,000 yard barrier for his career and Kyle Johnson and Ryan Ferkinhoff (pictured) ran for touchdowns as Hamline defeated Carleton, 19-7, in Northfield in the season finale for both teams.

HU improved to 4-6 overall with a 372-271 edge in total yards over the Knights.

Duncan led a 226 yard ground attack with a solid effort. It brought his school record career rushing total to 4,068 yards -- a figure even more impressive when you consider he has been hurt this year (and missed three games) and missed a game last year as well.

Fellow senior Ferkinhoff was also on target with 85 yards, including a 27 yard jaunt that put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter.

Johnson and Justice Spriggs shared the QB duties. Johnson ran for 53 yards and a second quarter score and completed eight passes for 93 yards. Spriggs also completed eight passes for 53 yards.

Zach Schwalbach, also a senior, led the solid defensive effort with 11 tackles, nine of which were solos.

Johnson's TD gave Hamline a 7-0 lead. The Piper defense stuffed the Knights on the goal line in the last minute of the half. Kale Wurdeman kicked a field goal to make it 10-0 in the third quarter. The Knights scored late in the quarter to make it 10-7. Wordeman added another field goal and Ferkinhoff capped a 61-yard drive with his TD with his 2:18 left in the game.
