Box Score If you like your baseball highscoring, Northfield was the place to be Wednesday. Hamline and Carleton combined for 30 runs in just 13 innings of action. The Pipers won their sixth game in a row in the first game of the doubleheader, 18-12. They trailed 19-11 after six innings of the nightcap when it was suspended due to darkness. The game, which is a nine-inning affair, will be picked up Thursday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m.
In the harried opener, every member of the HU lineup had at least one hit in the 18-hit attack.Â
Evan Cordell was 4-for-5 with four RBI.Â
Collin Olstad homered as part of a 2-hit, 3 RBI game.Â
Matt Connell did the reverse (3 hits, 2 RBI) and
Dan Moro offered a different twist with three runs scored and a pair of hits.Â
The Knights led 5-3 after two innings only to see Olstad hit a three-run shot as part of a five-run third frame. Hamline scored seven more runs in the next two innings but the Knights responded with two in the fifth to make it 15-7. Â HU scored a pair in the sixth and the Knights responded with five of their own to make the score a football like 17-10.Â
Nicholas Roesller, who pitched 4.1 innings of relief, earned the win.Â
The Pipers (19-12, 7-6 MIAC) got off to a great start in Game 2. Hamline scored in each of the first four innings for a 7-2 lead. The Pipers led 11-5 when the Knights, aided by four errors, came back to plate 14 runs in the last of the sixth inning. Cordell has three hits and three RBI so far.Â
Joe Setrum homered.Â

Tyler Summers also have rapped out two hits.
