The Hamline women's tennis team will remember their first home court match of the year fondly. The Pipers won four singles match and one doubles match to overhaul Macalester, 5-4, Wednesday in their first match of the year on Holt Court.
Jordan Danielson, Maggie Gibson, Lilli Denison (pictured) and
Emily Wollmuth scored impressive singles triumphs. The quartet won their matches all by 2-0 counts. Dennison was most impressive with a pair of 6-0 decisions at No. 5. The doubles tandem of
Emily Butler and
Elizabeth Hughes also stood out with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. Danielson's 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles was the clincher for the day.Â

Hamline, which has now won three matches in a row, is now 1-7 in the MIAC, 6-10 overall. The Pipers host Concordia Saturday at Holt at noon.
