Box Score They roared from behind. But the hill was just a little too steep to climb. Hamline scored three third period goals but Bethel held on for a 5-3 victory Friday night in Blaine.Â
Down 3-0 entering the period, Jaimee Nowicki started the rally with a power play goal at 7:07. The Royals made it 4-1 29 seconds later. At that point, the Pipers really turned on the juices. Megan Gjere fed Jenny Magill for the latter's third goal of the season at 14:17. Two and a half minutes later, things got really interesting when Jaci Reinke, who led Hamline;s 40 shot attack with half a dozen of her own, converted Dana Almquist's pass to pull within a goal at 4-3.Â
The Pipers kept on firing, finishing the frame with 20 shots. They pulled goalie Jessica Cole in the late going. BU, however, found the empty net and dropped Hamline to 7-9-2 on the season, 4-6-1 in the MIAC.Â
The teams return to action Saturday at Oscar Johnson Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
