Briana Bridgeford will remember her last home gymnastics meet fondly. The Grand Forks, ND native (pictured) scored a 9.175 to win the Uneven Parallel Bars competition in Hamline's dual meet with Gustavus Adolphus at Hutton Arena Sunday. The Pipers dropped the competitive meet by a 183.400-181.725 count but Bridgeford, one of two seniors on the team, led the Pipers who garnered five of the top six spots to win that part of the competition by a 45.650-44.875 margin. Madison Couves was close behind Bridgeford with a 9.150 tally. Morgan Bradford was fourth with Courtney Morrison and the team's other senior, Andrea Gross close behind.
HU also took the Floor Exercise battle 47.050-46.075. Sela Fadness was second to Gustavus' Alex Kopp with a 9.575 score (Hamline's best individual count of the day). Danielle Dudley, Sidney Tribbet, Cate Reynolds and Darby Slater harbored the next four positions. Fadness was also second on the Balance Beam (9.425) with Rosie Giese (9.400) claiming third place. Madeline Lind was the top Piper finisher on the Balance Beam, finishing in sixth place (8.800).Â
Hamline returns to action on Friday, February 19 at Winona State. The meet begins at 6:30 p.m.
