The Piper women's tennis team fought hard but lost, 9-0, to Gustavus Adolphus Saturday at the U-Minnesota Tennis Center. Â Elizabeth Hughes and Maggie Gibson fared the best in singles, each winning six games of their opponents. Hughes lost at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-4 and Gibson fell at No. 6 by a pair of 6-3 scores. Maddie Muotka, playing No. 3 singles, shook off a 6-1 first set setback to come close in a 6-4 loss in the second set.Â
Hamline is now 2-3 overall, 1-2 in the MIAC. The Pipers return to action march 5 against UM-Morris.
