W Hockey Outshoot Augsburg In 4-0 Loss

2/6/2016 10:07:00 PM

Box Score For the second night in a row, Hamline's women hockey team fired a lot of pucks at Augsburg. For the second night in a row, they ran into a red wall in Auggie goalie Erika Allen who wouldn't budge, sending HU to a 4-0 loss Saturday in Minneapolis.

It was a disjointed game all night. There were 22 penalties called. The Pipers killed off seven of the eight player disadvantages. Augsburg scored twice in the first period (one on a pp) and added singles in the next two periods.

Despite those numbers, HU outshot the Auggies, 8-6 in the first period, went even at 10 each in the second and held an 8-7 edge in the third, finishing with a 26-23 margin overall. Jenny Magill was the top gunner with six shots with Megan Lawry and Brede Postier adding four each.

Hamline is 8-11-2 overall, 5-9-1 in the MIAC. They will face St. Catherine next weekend. Friday's game is at Oscar Johnson Arena (7 p.m.).
