Maggie Gibson scored a straight set victory at No. 6 singles as the highlight of the day for the Piper women's tennis team, which fell, 8-1, to St. Mary's Saturday at Holt Courts. 

Gibson scored a solid 6-1, 6-2 decision for HU, which is now 6-9 overall. Maddie Muotka rallied from a first set loss for a 6-4 win in the second set before falling 10-4 in the tiebreaker. 

Hamline returns to action April 18 against St. Olaf and also plays on Wednesday, April 20 against Wis-River Falls at Holt Courts. Both matches begin at 4:00 p.m.
