The last memory of the 2016 women's tennis season for Hamline will be a bright one. The Pipers won five singles matches and a pair of doubles as well in a 7-2 win at Macalester in the season finale. Maggie Gibson and Lilli Denison won their singles matches to finish the season with winning records for HU, which ended the year 7-12 overall and 2-8 in the MIAC.

Gibson, playing No. 6 singles, had to work overtime to finish at 11-8. She started with a 6-4 win but dropped the second set, 6-2. The junior won the tiebreaker, 10-3. Denison had a slightly easier time of it at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 sweep to end the year with a 10-8 singles record. Elizabeth Hughes, playing her final match for HU, rallied to win at No. 5 singles, 2-6, 6-1, 10-5. Hughes and Gibson also teamed up at No. 2 doubles for a 8-2 triumph. Jordan Danielson and Maddie Muotka also win at singles. Muotka teamed with Natalie Pieterick for a doubles win as well. The freshman tandem ended the season with winning records in doubles play at 10-9.
