Box Score Maddie Brown's impressive first season of college lacrosse continued Saturday. The freshman, who leads Hamline in goals with 29, scored five times in the Pipers' 13-9 loss at Concordia (WI). Hamline, now 5-5 in its initial voyage as a women's lacrosse entity, trailed 6-3 at halftime and couldn't catch up to the Falcons, who are 9-1 on the season.

Dana Almquist and Lexus Tatge also scored twice each for the Pipers.

The game was tight early. Concordia led by only 3-2 with 10 minutes left in the first half. The Falcons scored the next three goals with Almquist getting one back with two seconds left in the half. Brown started the second half with a goal to make it 6-4. The teams traded goals to make it 8-6 (Brown had both HU tallies) but the Falcons scored four of the next six goals to push the lead to 12-7.

Hamline stays on the road and will play at Illinois Tech Sunday. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
