The Hamline women's tennis team lost their season opener to Carleton, 9-0, in Lakeville Thursday. The Knights, last year's MIAC co-champs, are picked to repeat in that role. The number three doubles team of Emily Butts and Megan Anderson fared the best, winning two games in their match. In singles, Natalie Pieterick, Jordan Danielson each won one game and Anderson took two. 

The Pipers play three more matches this weekend. On Saturday, they travel to St. Peter take on Gustavus Adolphus (11 a.m.) and Northwestern (MN) at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, they face Bemidji State in Lakeville (2 p.m.)
