Gabrielle Brown got the jump on the 2019 track and field season with a record setting effort. The Minneapolis, Minn. native was competing in a meet rife with D-II and D-III competitors in Mankato Saturday. She finished second to a D-II runner in the race but her time of 8.79 bested the old mark of 8.87 seconds set by Carolyn Saulsberry in 2016.
