Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The final games of the 2018 Hamline softball season offered a look ahead to 2019.

The Pipers finished on an up note, defeating Bethel by 5-2 scores in both games of the doubleheader in Arden Hills Tuesday. The heroes of the day offered a positive glimpse to the future of the program.

In Game 1, sophomore Kira Krueger went 2-for-2, scored twice and knocked in a run. She also went the first five innings, giving up two runs on nine hits to earn the win and finish the season with a 6-8 mark. Freshman infielders Angela Wollmuth and Blair Tommelein each went 2-for-4 with a RBI.

In the season finale, head coach Jim Rubbelke went to his bench with positive results. Becca Liebelt, a sophomore, had two hits, a home run and a RBI and Cora Stallcup, a freshman, had two hits and a RBI. That was plenty for pitcher Sabrina Warden, a junior, who scattered seven hits to earn the complete game win and finish the season with a 5-4 mark.

Hamline, which loses three players to graduation (Abbie Annen, Sydney Fransiscus, Roxanne Reinfeld), finished the season 17-19 overall, 10-12 in the MIAC.
