Maddie Johnson (Bayport, Minn.) and
Montana Miller (Wyoming, Minn.), junior
Natalee Boelk (Fond du Lac, Wis.), and sophomore
Reese Herrig (Woodbury, Minn.) have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, the organization announced May 26.
Johnson appeared in 38 games, making 35 starts during her senior campaign. She put together an excellent season at the plate, ranking second on the team in hits (33), RBIs (19), and slugging percentage (.413) and finished third on the squad with a .317 batting average and a .781 OPS. Johnson collected nine multi-hit games on the season and went a perfect 4-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI against Gustavus Adolphus (4/15). She finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored in a win over Martin Luther (4/8) and also smacked a home run and drove in two runs during a doubleheader split against St. Scholastica (4/30). Johnson also stood out in the outfield, committing just a single error all year, compiling a .976 fielding percentage.
Miller made a team-high 29 pitching appearances, starting four games in the circle during her senior season. She led the pitching staff in ERA (5.51), WHIP (2.04), and wins (3) while finishing second on the team in innings pitched (75.0) and strikeouts (22). She proved to be a dynamic force out of the bullpen, tossing 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to help secure a win against Cal Lutheran (3/11) and pitched 4.0 innings of stellar relief, allowing zero earned runs with two strikeouts against Gustavus Adolphus (4/15). She racked up a season-high four strikeouts in just 2.0 innings of work against Whittier (3/10) and also delivered an incredible 7.0-inning complete-game performance as a starter against St. Scholastica (4/30), matching her season-high with three strikeouts to secure a critical late-season victory.
Boelk appeared in 25 games in the circle, making 16 starts, posting a 2–11 record with a 8.27 ERA over 86.1 innings pitches and struck out 17 batters. She threw a season-high 7.0 innings with just one run allowed vs. Dominican (Ill.) (2/22) and added multiple extended outings, including a 7.0-inning start vs. Macalester (4/11) and a 6.0-inning outing vs. St. Scholastica (4/30). She also made appearances at the plate and in the field, contributing in limited non-pitching roles throughout the season.
Herrig appeared in 35 games, making 34 starts in the infield during her sophomore campaign. She ranked second on the team with a .385 on-base percentage and tied for third on the squad with 12 walks. She collected 17 hits, 12 runs scored, and three doubles on the season. She went 1-for-1 with a double against Cal Lutheran (3/11) and swiped a pair of runs and drove in one during a 1-for-2 day at the plate against Concordia-M'head (4/26). Herrig finished 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs against St. Catherine (5/2) and proved highly reliable defensively, finishing the season with a .965 fielding percentage across 85 total chances, including 33 putouts and 49 assists.
