The Hamline women's tennis team made a successful transition from the outdoor warmth of Florida to the comfort of playing indoors at Baseline Tennis Center at the U of Minnesota. The Pipers won twice Saturday at Baseline, defeating Wartburg and Northwestern by identical 6-3 scores.
Ali Kopiecki and
Megan Anderson were a potent two way punch for the Pipers, who moved over .500 on the season at 7-6.
Kopiecki improved her No. 1 singles record to 10-3 with a pair of straight set wins. Anderson did likewise at No. 5 singles to up her mark to 7-4 in that category on the season. The pair then teamed up at No. 1 doubles for 8-4 and 8-5 wins. The pair is now 4-0 as a No. 1 tandem.
Courtney Fenech also had a perfect day, winning both her matches at No. 2 singles. The first year player teamed with
Claire Witt for a win in No. 2 doubles against the Eagles.
The Pipers return to the MIAC wars March 30 against St. Benedict at Baseline Tennis Center. The match will begin at 12:00 p.m.
