When Mother Nature threatens, softball coaches listen. With a snowstorm predicted for the area later this week, Hamline coach
Jim Rubbelke agreed to have the doubleheader that had been scheduled at St. Olaf for Thursday, April 11 to be moved to Tuesday, April 9. The pair of games will begin at 3:30 p.m.
The games have importance in the MIAC standings. Hamline, which won four of six games on the weekend, is 5-4 in MIAC play (12-13 overall). St. Olaf is 6-4 in conference action and 16-10 overall. The Oles were swept by St. Thomas on Saturday but turned the tables and did likewise to Augsburg on Sunday.
Both teams are tight on the rail of Carleton and Macalester, who currently hold down fourth place with 5-3 league marks. The top four teams make the MIAC playoffs.
The games feature two of the league's top pitchers. St. Olaf's Julie Graf is tied for the lead in the MIAC with 10 wins. Hamline's
Alex Molloy is 9-5 after winning three times on the weekend. Her 1.59 ERA ranks third among all MIAC hurlers.
