ST. PAUL, Minn. - In their third and final home meet of the 2020 season, the Hamline gymnastics team honored their two seniors with an 185.450-180.650 win over Gustavus Adolphus in Walker Field House. This was the Pipers' largest margin of victory since they defeated Gustavus on February 25, 2018 by a score of 184.775-179.525.

The Pipers posted season-highs on all four events, scoring the most points on beam with 47.425. HU tallied 46.600 points on the vault, 46.400 points on the floor exercise, and 45.025 points on the uneven parallel bars.

First years
Tisana Lowe and
Madeline Sowinski had nights to remember for Hamline. Lowe tied for first on the vault with a score of 9.500, which is a new record for the Woodbury native as well as a team-high so far this season. She also took second on bars (9.200) and floor (9.475) and placed second in the all-around with a score of 37.125, which is the highest all-around score of any Piper so far this year.

Sowinski took home a pair of wins, taking first on beam with a score of 9.675 and first on floor with a score of 9.625. Both scores are the highest any Hamline gymnast has recorded in those events this season.

On bars, Hamline had competitors finish in second through fifth place. Closely behind Lowe's team-leading score was junior
Mary Kelly (9.125) and sophomore
Carolina Schlawiedt (9.025) who placed third and fourth, respectively. Senior
Lydia Ingram took fifth with a score of 8.900.

The Pipers had a similarly strong showing on beam, having six of the top seven scores. Behind Sowinski's top score was sophomore
Katie Kalland's 9.525, which was good for third place. Sophomore
Katie Viles was next in with a 9.500 and Ingram capped off the top-five with a 9.475.

In addition to Ingram, senior
Caitlin Cooper was honored during the event. Cooper took sixth on vault with a score of 9.300 and seventh on floor with a score of 9.250.
