Senior Spotlight: Radian Lenz

Despite having their seasons cut short, the Hamline athletic department would like to recognize and honor the 2020 senior spring class of student-athletes. These 37 individuals have made a lasting impact on their program and the Hamline campus as a whole. Radian Lenz   |   Lacrosse   |    Marketing Major
Radian Lenz has played in 63 career games for the Hamline women's lacrosse team, and currently is fourth on the all-time points list with 131 total points (99 goals, 32 assists). Lenz has been part of three MWLC Championships and three trips to the NCAA Tournament, helping the Pipers to their first ever win in the NCAA Tournament, as they defeated Rhodes College 11-9 in the first round last season. In 2018, she was named to the MWLC First Team, while also being named to the Second Team twice in her career. Lenz earned a spot on the MWLC All-Academic Team on two different occasions and was also involved with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
 
What were you most looking forward to for this spring season?
I was looking forward to our home games on Klas Field and playing with all of my incredible teammates.
 
What is one of your favorite memories of your time at Hamline?
One of my favorite memories at Hamline is when we won the conference championship game my first year and went to Gettysburg for nationals.
 
Who is someone that has had a positive impact on you during your time as a student-athlete?
My coach, Karen Heggernes, and our faculty rep, Beth Gunderson, have given me endless support academically and in lacrosse over the past four years.
 
What is your advice for your younger teammates?
Enjoy every moment you have together and remember everything happens for a reason.
 
What are you most proud of about your career as a student-athlete?
I am proud of being able to participate in athletics at the collegiate level while maintaining a high GPA and being involved on campus.
