RESULTS
SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University gymnastics team opened their 2022 season at Walker Fieldhouse on Friday night, when they hosted Winona State University and UW-Oshkosh in a WIAC Triangular Meet. The Pipers came in third place out of three teams with a score of 174.775. UW-Oshkosh took home first place with a 185.650, followed by Winona State's second-place tally of 178.750.
The vault was all Julia Cheely, who registered a fourth-place mark of 9.300 while Danielle Jaworski locked in for a three-way tie in fifth place with a 9.275. Madison Lieurance kept the fourth-place trend alive for Hamline in the balance beam, with a fourth-place score of 9.175. The fourth-place train carried on in the floor exercise, as Danielle Jaworski occupied that spot with a score of 9.375. The all-around saw Nikki Johnsen also tally fourth place with a score of 34.750, followed by Madeline Sowinski in fifth place with a 34.325.
UW-Oshkosh occupied the top-four spots in the uneven parallel bars.
The Pipers will return to action on Friday, January 21 at Winona State for a 6 p.m. start time.
