WINONA, MINN.—The Hamline University gymnastics team's second meet of the season pitted them at Winona State University for a Friday-night dual. The Pipers finished with 176.975 points against Winona's 179.725.
Bailee Davis captured a first-place score of 9.400 in the vault for the Pipers. Madeline Sowinski kept the first-place trend alive for Hamline in the balance beam with a 9.350, while Madison Lieurance took second place with a 9.300. The Pipers edged Winona State in the balance beam as a team 45.300 - 44.525.
Sowinski went on to take second place in the all-around with a 35.775.
The uneven parallel bars was all Carolina Schlawiedt, who registered a third-place mark of 8.625. Madeline Sowinski followed in fourth place with an 8.500, while Elizabeth Schauer tallied fifth place with an 8.350.
Danielle Jaworski tied for third place in the floor exercise with a 9.250.
The Pipers will host UW-Whitewater and Gustavus Adolphus in a WIAC Triangular at Walker Fieldhouse on Friday, January 28 at 6:30 p.m.
