SAINT PAUL, MINN.—Hamline University men's basketball sophomore forward Austin Holt was named December 5 MIAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native was a presence throughout a two-game week that included a 90-77 victory over Bethel on November 30, and a 60-52 decision over St. Olaf on December 3. Holt accumulated eight steals, five blocks, and 11 defensive rebounds on the week. This included five steals and three blocks in the St. Olaf game.
The week also resulted in offensive flair for Holt, who notched 15 points per game (14-of–27 shooting) and 10 total assists. He registered 19 points and seven assists against Bethel, and his fourth double double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards against St. Olaf.
Holt is second on the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game on 39-of-70 (.557) shooting, and assists with 21. He leads the squad with 12 steals, 10 blocks, and 9.8 rebounds per game. His four double doubles on the season ranks 24th in the country.
Holt and the Pipers will travel to Carleton on Wednesday, December 7 for a 7 p.m. game.
