OSHKOSH, WIS.—The Hamline University gymnastics team made the four-hour trek eastbound to UW-Oshkosh for a rare Thursday-night dual. The Pipers took second place with a team score of 179.365. The Titans registered 191.075 team points, which included a school-record mark of 48.350 on the vault.
Leading the way for Hamline was Nikki Johnsen, who notched a 36.275 as the lone participant in the all-around. Johnsen's all-around performance included a team-leading 9.475 in the balance beam, good enough for sixth place. The floor exercise saw Danielle Jaworski notch a sixth-place mark of 9.350, which led the Pipers. Madeline Sowinski commanded Hamline with a sixth-place tally of 9.000, while Nadia Abid secured seventh place in the vault with a 9.225.
The Pipers will return to action on Friday, February 11, when they will host UW-Stout at 6:30 p.m.
