Sophie Rausch Named 2021-22 AHCA First Team All-American

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—Hamline University women's hockey junior forward Sophie Rausch was named to the 2021-22 American Hockey Coaches Association Division II-III Women's All-American First Team. She is the seventh individual, and ninth overall selection in program history. Teammates Jordan Hansen and Molly Garin earned a spot on the second team in 2019-20.

Rausch appeared in all 25 games for the Pipers, as she led the team in scoring with 21 goals and 13 assists for 34 points. The Fergus Falls, Minnesota native finished the season with a MIAC-leading four game-winning goals, 0.84 goals per game, and 1.36 points per game. She posted multiple-goal games on five occasions; which included a hat trick in a 5-2 victory over St. Scholastica on December 3. Rausch tallied a season-high four points in an 8-0 victory over Bethel in the MIAC Tournament Quarterfinal on February 26, when she registered two goals and two assists.

The 2021-22 season also saw Rausch land MIAC Co-Player of the Year, in addition to being named to the all-conference team for the second time in her career. Rausch was named MIAC Player of the Week on November 22, and February 7.

Rausch and the Pipers finished the 2021-22 season with a 15-10 overall record, which ended with an appearance in the MIAC Tournament Championship Game.
