COLLEGEVILLE, MINN.—The Hamline University women's track & field team competed at the Saint John's Invitational on Saturday, where they took fifth place out of 10 teams with 95 points. Bemidji State took home the team title with 179 points.
Jenneel Rodney registered a first-place mark of 50.04m in the hammer throw, followed by Madison Reeds' third-place tally of 44.58m. Rodney continued her dominate ways in the discus, where she notched first place with a 43.42. Maddie Sowinski claimed gold in the pole vault with a 3.20m.
Third place was in the cards for Emma Ries in the high jump with a leap of 1.40m, and McKenna Hulslander in the javelin with a toss of 33.55m. The long jump was all Jen Valley, who eclipsed second place with a 5.26m. Andreiana Aurelius kept the second-place trend alive in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.61.
Alexandra Maddux led the distance group, as she secured fourth place in the 400 meter dash with a 1:00.04. Lucy Hoelscher followed in fifth place with a 1:01.30.
The 100 meter hurdles saw Cecelia Miller capture fourth place with a 17.14, while Jailyn Robinson also notched fourth place with her time of 12.99 in the 100 meter dash.
The Pipers will compete in the St. Thomas Twilight on Wednesday, April 13.
