ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Hamline University track and field program delivered a standout performance on Monday at the Hamline Invitational, securing three individual event victories and a wave of personal records at Klas Field. The Pipers utilized their home-field advantage to showcase depth across the board, led by a dominant showing in the jumping and vaulting events.
Sophomore
Isaiah Watson and junior
Austin Schloeder headlined the men's field results by capturing individual titles. Watson secured the top spot in the triple jump with a leap of 14.14 meters, while Schloeder cleared 4.50 meters to win the pole vault. The women's squad added a third title win to the tally thanks to freshman
Mabel Badejo, who topped the long jump field with a mark of 5.32 meters.
The men's track effort was paced by
Morris Suah, who earned a pair of top-three finishes in the hurdles. Suah took second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.12 and added a third-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in a personal-best 15.17 seconds. In the sprints, Jukari Blackshere took fifth in the 100-meter dash at 11.10, narrowly ahead of teammate Manny Poscher, who set a personal best of 11.12 to finish sixth. Poscher also excelled in the 200-meter dash, placing fourth with another career-best time of 22.95.
On the women's side,
Claire Siems led the sprinting crew with a personal-best 12.46 in the 100-meter dash to finish fifth, followed by a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 26.18. Freshman Jaz Turnbaugh was right behind her in the 200-meter, securing fifth place with a personal-best 26.23. The middle-distance group saw a strong performance from
Anabel Bradley, who clocked a personal-best 4:51.61 to take fifth in the 1500-meter run, while
Brooke Baumann earned sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 1:06.86.
Hamline's success extended into the throwing rings and additional vertical jumps.
Eddie Herman placed fourth in the men's discus with a toss of 42.36 meters, and
Dillon Thurston took fifth in the hammer throw at 48.27 meters. For the women,
Magenta Owens earned top-ten finishes in both the hammer (7th, 44.13m) and discus (8th, 31.38m), while
Marissa Albers placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 27.22 meters. In other jumping events,
Josiah Budiman finished fourth in the long jump at 6.44 meters, and
Jesse Gaboury joined Schloeder on the pole vault podium by taking third with a personal-best height of 3.75 meters.
