Cheely Wins Uneven Bars Title Against UW-Stout

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's gymnastics team hosted UW-Stout for a Friday-night dual at Walker Fieldhouse.

The Pipers were within striking distance in the uneven bars with 45.850 points compared to the Blue Devils' 46.425. Cheely's first-place mark of 9.625, and Brianna Weikel's third-place score of 9.450 had a lot to do with that. Cheely finished tied for second place in the vault with a 9.500, and registered a team-leading 9.450 in the balance beam en route to fifth place. 

Catelyn Zack and Brianna Weikel each had a team-leading 9.350 in the floor exercise, good enough for seventh place.

The Pipers will compete against Air Force and San Jose State in a triangular in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday, January 31 at 7 p.m. (MT).
