RESULTS
SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's track & field team competed at the Macalester Vanessa Seljeskog Classic on Saturday, where they took first place with 173 team points.
Brooke Baumann registered a first-place time of 5:36.77 in the 1 mile run, and a second-place time of 2:27.80 in the 800 meter run. Adrienne Karpen crossed the finish line at 1:09.11 in the 400 meter run, good enough for first place. Addyson Barrett was stellar in the long jump, where she claimed the title with a leap of 4.77m. Marissa Albers trailed Barrett with a second-place jump of 4.53m.
Lexi Brainer claimed the weight throw title with a 14.10m, while Brooke Tracy followed in second place with a 14.10m. Desirae Dates achieved a second-place toss of 11.75m in the shot put, followed by Brainer in third place with a 11.74m.
Second place was in the cards for Claire Siems, who clocked-in a career-best 8.34 in the 60-meter dash. Andreiana Aurelius notched an 8.37 in the 60-meter dash prelims, which put her in second and a spot in the finals, where she and Alexi Schneider took third place with an 8.40. Anabel Bradley achieved second place in the 1000 meter run with a 3:11.79, as did Daniela Sanchez-Castillo in the 600 meter run with a 1:54.61.Â
The Pipers will compete at the Luther Invitational on Saturday, February 8.
