Ricky Kwabena Yawson Breaks Three School Records at St. Olaf Tostrud Classic

NORTHFIELD, MINN.—Ricky Kwabena Yawson's three school records highlighted the Hamline University men's track & field team at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic on Friday evening.

Kwabena Yawson entered Friday as the school-record holder in the 60-meter dash with a 6.94. He broke that record twice with a 6.93 in the prelims, followed by a first-place time of 6.91 in the finals. The school records continued to roll in for Kwabena Yawson, who accomplished that feat again with a 22.41 in the 200 meter dash, which put him in second place. Reece Thomas trailed Kwabena Yawson with a 23.13 in the 200 meter dash, which put him in third.

Austin Schloeder cleared the bar at 4.90m in the pole vault, which put him in first place and ranks 13th in NCAA Division III. 

Jackson Lightner kept the first-place trend alive with an 8.49 in the 60 meter hurdles, followed by Morris Suah's second-place time of 8.61. Suah jumped on the title bandwagon with a 1.87m in the high jump. Third place was in the cards for Abdoul Gueye in the high jump with a 1.77m. The triple jump resulted in a championship-mark of 13.46m for Isaiah Watson. 

The Pipers will embark on the MIAC Indoor Championship in Collegeville, Minnesota on February 27-March 1.
