NEW ORLEANS, La. --- Fifth year thrower
Lexi Brainer (Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville South) and sophomore jumper
Isaiah Watson (Fridley, Minn. / Fridley) of Hamline University track & field earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for their outstanding indoor seasons.
Brainer earned All-Region honors in the weight throw and shot put. She is headed to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in weight throw after throwing a school record setting and top-10 nationally ranked mark of 17.71 meters at the Jack Johnson Classic. She placed second in the weight throw and fourth in shot put at the MIAC Championships.
Watson earned All-Region honors in the triple jump, and is headed to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships for the second year in a row for the triple jump. He placed first in the triple jump in four out of the five meets that he competed the event, his season best jump coming in at the La Crosse Qualifier with a jump of 14.64 meters to help get him to the NCAA Championships cut. He was the Indoor MIAC Champion in the triple jump this season as well.
