Women Win Luther Invite Title

DECORAH, IOWA—The Hamline University women's track & field team competed at the Luther Invitational on Saturday. The Pipers won the team title with 167 points.

Savannah Brown's 2.93m in the pole vault secured her the title. Lexi Brainer kept the titles rolling in the shot put (12.01m) and weight throw (16.75m). Lena Sampy trailed Brainer with a second-place mark of 11.32m in the shot put.

Second place was in the cards for Andreiana Aurelius, who registered a time of 44.65 in the 300 meter dash. Anabel Bradley kept the second-place trend alive with a 1:41.75 in the 600 meter run, followed by Brooke Baumann in third place with a 1:45.40. Frankie Witham's 1.52m in the high jump secured her second place. Addyson Barrett (4.85m) and Nevaeh Barnd (4.50m) occupied the second and third spots on the long jump podium.

Daniela Sanchez-Castillo crossed the finish line at 3:24.65 in the 1000 meter run, good enough for third place. Claire Siems prevailed in the 200 meter dash, where she crossed the finish line at 28.11 en route to third place. 

The Pipers will compete at the Saint John's Invite on Saturday, February 15.
