Seven Pipers Earn 2025-26 MIAC Women's Hockey Conference Honors

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline University first year forward Nina Thorson (Duluth, Minn. / Duluth Marshall) earned 2025-2026 MIAC Women's Hockey Rookie of the Year honors and All-Conference honors, while sophomores Ashlyn Abrahamson (Devils Lake, ND. / Devils Lake), Grace Delmonico (Eagan, Minn. / Gentry Academy), Brooke Klemz (Chisago City, Minn. / Chisago Lakes), Ellie Newpower (Lino Lakes, Minn. / Centennial), and junior Abigail Chamernick (Warroad, Minn. / Warroad) earned All-Conference honors. Junior Annabel Mehta (Eden Prairie, Minn. / Eden Prairie) earned a spot on the 2026 MIAC Women's Hockey All-Playoff Team announced Thursday, Mar. 5. 

Thorson was selected as the MIAC Women's Hockey Rookie of the Year after leading all first-year players with 19 points, 11 goals, and four game-winners in her MIAC debut season. She is the first Piper in program history to be named MIAC Women's Hockey Rookie of the Year since the award was established in 2022-23. Overall, Thorson combined a total of 25 points, with 15 goals and 10 assists on the season for the Pipers in 26 games played. 

Abrahamson ended the season with 26 points, scoring 11 goals and dropping 15 assists. She accumulated over 100 shots throughout the course of the season, ending with 105. She had 4 power play goals and 2 game winning goals during her season. 

Delmonico came away with 24 points in the season, with 12 goals and 12 assists. She helped the Pipers with two game winning goals. 

Klemz ended the MIAC season with 23 points, this included 9 goals and 14 assists to help the Pipers. 

Ellie Newpower helped her team to the MIAC semifinals with 19 total points, 7 goals and 12 assists. Newpower also stood strong on defense, blocking 37 total shots from reaching the Piper goaltenders. 

Abigail Chamernick led the team in points this season with 32 points, scoring 11 goals and adding 21 helpers to the score sheet. She also contributed over 100 shots throughout the season. Also a big net front presence, Chamernick blocked 39 total shots on the season. 

Mehta earned MIAC Women's Hockey All-Playoff team honors, scoring the Pipers lone two goals during the semifinals match between the Pipers and the Bennies. She ended the season with a total of 16 points, 6 goals and 10. assists. 

The Pipers heard on Sunday, March 7 that they were picked as At-Large bid for the NCAA DIII Women's Hockey Tourmanent and will be hosting Endicott on Saturday, Mrch 14th!
